Opt-in

An opt-in is the explicit subscriber action that grants consent to receive marketing SMS. Valid opt-ins are time-stamped, attributed to a source, and tied to disclosure language the subscriber actually saw.

Why it matters

Opt-in source predicts list quality. POS opt-ins, loyalty enrollments, and e-commerce checkboxes carry different engagement profiles — and different compliance posture. Tracking source from day one makes everything easier.
